"Often we ask, why didn't Allah reply my prayers? Why didn't I get the things that I was praying for?"

"Often we thought what we wanted in life is the end, and to get to the end we pray to Allah (the means). When in fact, it should be the other way round. Allah is always the end, the destination, the highest point. And whatever we wanted is a mean for us to be nearer to Allah"

"Don't fret if you didn't get what you wanted, it may cause you to disconnect from Allah in the future. Believe that Allah always knows best, and you don't."

"It's like a marriage. A lot of people pray to Allah they want to get married with a decent man. When in context, with this marriage, you hope it will bring you closer to our Creator"

I just thought I should share this. I paraphrased what Yasmin Mogahed wrote in her book entitled "Reclaim Your Heart". The most moving book I have ever read.
